SCRIPTURE — A SACRED SPACE

Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 14 July 2026

Welcome to Scripture - A Sacred Space ("the app"), developed and operated by Micheal Vijay J, Bengaluru, India ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What the app is

The app provides the complete 73-book Catholic Bible in the Douay-Rheims translation (a public-domain work), daily verses, reading plans, a read-aloud feature, and community features for parish life: reflections, a prayer wall, events, In Memoriam posts, groups, live Mass notices, and Family Connect care reminders. The Bible text is presented in English; the app interface is available in English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

2. Your account

3. Community rules

The app is a sacred space shared by a real parish community. When you post reflections, prayers, events, memorials, or group messages, you agree to:

Group administrators may approve or remove members of their groups. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Where reasonably possible we will tell you why.

4. Your content

You own the content you post. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive licence to store and display that content inside the app so the service can work — for example, showing your prayer request to other signed-in users. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where a copy must be kept briefly for legal or safety reasons.

5. Family Connect and reminders

Family Connect links two accounts only after both sides act: one side creates a request or invite code, and the other accepts or redeems it. Either linked person may remove the link at any time, which also removes the shared care reminders. Reminders are a convenience feature and must not be relied upon for medical or safety-critical purposes.

6. Not professional advice

The app offers scripture and community encouragement. It does not provide medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice, and the presence of community content in the app is not an endorsement by us or by any parish.

7. The service is provided "as is"

The core app is free. We work hard to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and features may change, be added, or be withdrawn as the app evolves. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable law that cannot be limited.

8. Future paid features

The Bible, prayer wall, and community features are free. If optional paid features (such as a supporter subscription) are introduced in the future, they will be clearly marked, entirely optional, and covered by updated terms presented before you pay. Grief-related and memorial content will never be placed behind a paywall.

9. Ending your use

You may stop using the app and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app grows. We will update the effective date on this page, and highlight significant changes inside the app. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer-law rights you hold.
